Fire officials believe a furnace is among the possible sources of a gas buildup that likely caused a fatal house explosion in the Milwaukee suburb of Wauwatosa. The 80-year-old woman lived in the home for 50 years. She was killed in the explosion Saturday that obliterated the house and damaged between 10 and 20 others in the neighborhood. The son lived with his mother, but was up north when the house exploded. He looked over the debris yesterday and said he and his mother had been discussing the need for a new furnace. Fire Chief says the blast caused at least $700,000 damage. Since the early June blast, at least four gas leaks in the same neighborhood have been reported. Some neighbors say they don't feel safe.
