Title: Economizers 101
Post by: scarey8 on June 26, 2012, 08:43:32 PM
Anyone have an links to generic information on air economizers for rooftops?  recently enter the commercial world and am thoroughly lost on economizers and the wiring and terminals.  I would like to have the same understand of economizers as I do with low voltage furnace controls, ie can look at a board and identify the G terminal as fan or the W1 terminal as low stage heat.  any links or pocket charts out there for reference???  I just see a number of terminals and no understanding of really what they are.  HELP HELP

It really depends on the equipment you're working on.  There are different ways to control economizers using outdoor temperature controls or enthalpy controls etc...

You can download a Economizer guide from Honeywell - Here (http://customer.honeywell.com/techlit/pdf/63-0000s/63-8594.pdf)

Some economizers run on 24V some on 120V.

Hopefully the equipment you're working on has a wiring diagram or model # we could reference.
