Post by: Admin on October 15, 2012, 11:48:27 AM
Can someone can tell me where to find gas piping charts for propane in the B149.1-05 or B149.1-10 Natural gas and propane code.

Lol thanks!

I must have flipped through my code book 20 times looking for that.  I don't do much work on propane.

AS a superior propane contractor with a fitter 1 cert in both gas and propane, even before they got combined into the 1 cert, you can usually get away with using the nat gas pipe sizing chart for most gas loads until you get into higher loadings (over 500MMbtu) or your running a longer gas line across a roof.
Then you should review the propane sizing charts. I've never had issues with larger loading or longer piping runs, as I always feel that erring on the next larger pipe size will provide enough volumetric capacity, or else I'll run a pounds system then install regs at or near the appliances.
