Title: union vs non-union
Post by: mattmctree on November 17, 2012, 09:01:03 AM
What are everyones thoughts on this? Most people tell me if you aren't union you get shafted and screwed over. Others say that union dues are high and that they sit at home. We don't get breaks where I work, no overtime till after 45 hours, we never get told if we are working late or not and typically work till 6 or 8 on a regular basis. We do get limited benefits. I was just curious as to what most people felt about this issue

I would be happy to have more than 40 hours a week, every week. My company has no benefits and overtime pay and my shifts are until 6-8 almost every day. As for the union, I would love to be in the union because of the benefits and skilled people. In my opinion, all the pro techs are in the big union companies. Here is my 2 cents.

Unions are not good. Keep your money to your self.
