Title: Heat pump range
Post by: EvilMonkey on February 05, 2013, 07:28:14 PM
1.What is the lowest outdoor temp you heat pump will still heat with no back up (e.g. you turn off back up function)?
2.What is the COP in situation from point 1?
3.What is the maximum outdoor working temp of your heat pump in heating mode?

Thanks

When I install dual fuel systems, I usually set the heat pump to work up to -10°C or -12°C before switching to AUX heat.

Theoretically heat exists in the air until you reach absolute zero, which is -273.15°C / -459.67°F.

Checkout the Acadia heat pump thread - Here (http://www.hvactechgroup.com/hvacforum/index.php?topic=587.0)

I have experience with heat pump till -25 C (VRV III), there is also Cold climate add on option. I have no experience with that.
I will find something about Cold climate.

Heard something about new CCHP from Emerson.I also need to look into.

Thanks,  :)
