the condensing unit originally was the problem I was having, but i forgot to disconnect the 24v control voltage to the condensing unit and I accidentally shorted them which I assume blew a fuse somewhere in the air handler , I opened up the air handler and the only thing I could see it could be was this transformer with a sort of push button, not sure if its a reset-able fuse button or not, I tried pushing it in but nothing happens.
Anyone know if that's probably whats going on. it says use 2.5amp fuse only but I can't seem to figure out if there's a fuse inside of it or what.
I normally only work on residential stuff so I've got little experience on this type of equipment. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I put some links to some pictures so you can see what I'm talking about.

The silver "push button" on the transformer is your 24V fuse. You should be able to unthread the nut at the base of it and pull the glass fuse out.
The parts breakdown lists a 50VA transformer with fuse but doesn't specify the rating. I'm sure a 3A glass fuse will work fine but double check the rating stamped on the blown fuse.
The only fuses listed in the parts breakdown are the 240V fuses.
thanks for the help.
I tried to unthread that nut but it had a lip on the under side of it that doesnt allow it to be turned. the plastic surrounding it actually cracked a little when I tried. I'll try it again tomorrow and see if its possible, the transformer it self states not to use a fuse bigger than 2.5A
If that fails, Could i just replace the transformer with a new 240V-24V 50VA and add in a fuse in the 24v side wiring?
Yes, that should solve the problem.
push and turn
ahh push and turn, I'll try that out first before buying a new one.
the push and twist worked, now I know for next time, thanks alot guys.
