Title: Fan Center wiring
Post by: 99blacksi on July 18, 2013, 05:56:56 AM
Just replaced an older honeywell 3 wire fan center with a new white rodgers 5 wire fan center. The black red and white are hooked back up as normal and the brown gets capped, but does the black with yellow stripe wire get wired in with line voltage as well? I was told I could use either black wire for power so I just capped the black and yellow wire as well, but I currently have no power for the fan. AC initiates but fan doesn't come on with it. So for now I just pushed in the fan switch so they had cooling.

Yes, you should wire the black wire with yellow stripe with the black wire connected to the line voltage.

Black = L1
Black & Yellow = L1
White = N
Red = Fan
Brown = Not used

Thanks, that's what it looked like on the schematic but I wanted to verify before I supplied line voltage to something that possibly couldn't take it.
