I bought a house with a Lifebreath 155 max. I cant seem to find a main control panel anywhere in the house, just the panels to turn the fans on. The unit has power to it, I can see the damper move when I open and close the door switch, but outside of that it seems there is no power. The auto-test doesn't run when you unplug and plug it back in after 30 seconds. The LED's on the side of the unit don't light up no matter how many times you hit the buttons. The plug to the unit is definitely working though. Any suggestions?
I would first verify that HRV has not been recalled. See the Nutech recall page - Here (http://www.hvactechgroup.com/article.php/20070610195729513)
Have you tried to spin the fan wheels to see if they spin freely?
Are there any low voltage wires connected to the terminals on the HRV? Even without low voltage wires the HRV should perform its self test and power the damper and fans and the LED light should flash red.
The fact that the damper operates tells me the auto transformer works. You most likely have an internal wiring problem or the control board is bad.
See the wiring diagram below. Install a jumper between terminals 2 (ON) and 3 (RED). Then install a jumper between terminals 2 (ON) and 10 (BLK). Power up the HRV and see if anything happens.
Where are the buttons you're pushing?
The fan wheels spin freely, the model is not a recall.
On the side of the HRV is a control type thing that says "ventilation fan" it has 5 LED's on it and a single button. This control thing has terminals on the side of it, and screwed onto those terminals are a couple of low voltage wires. The picture you added with all those binding posts, does not seem to be on my HRV anywhere, the only posts I can seem to find are the 3 that are on that "ventilation fan" control. Labelled yellow, red, and green.
If im missing something obvious that you have already said I appolagize.
