Title: Sizing of humidifier/air conditioner

Its 36000 sq ft home and cx would like to install the humidifier. General aire 1042 humidifier does job up to 2800 sq ft home.so which kind of humidifier would you guy install.i am not much fan of steam humidifier.
Also how many tonnes of air condition req for this house?the house is 8 yrs old.

You may want to get your 313A before you size an a/c for a 36,000 sq ft home.

For a 3600 sq ft home a 4ton air conditioner is probably the best fit.

Normal house = 850 sq ft per ton.  3600 / 850 = 4.2ton

Energy Star house = 950 sq ft per ton.  3600 / 950 = 3.8ton

I would look at the Aprilaire 600 for homes up to 4000 sq ft.
