Title: Finished school, now what
Post by: Gavin on July 17, 2015, 02:23:31 PM
I have recently finished the 2 year hvac program at Cambrian college and now that I have completed the program and attained my G2/OBT2 and ODP I am at a loss of what to do.
I am currently living in London Ontario and unfortunately do not have a drivers licence (yet)
All of the job applications in the hvac field I have seen so far are all requiring refrigeration licences and drivers license.
Anyone know of companies that want indivuals like me? I understand job markets are in the toilet currently but anything would help

step 1 at least get your drivers license, you're going to need it to get the licensed guys coffees.
step 2 find someone who's willing to pay you as a helper/apprentice.
step 3 learn the trade and work your way up the ladder.

unless you're lucky you're going to have to earn every opportunity.

Great points by Walker.

Your drivers license will be a must in most cases. You might be able to get away as an assistant/helper where the Sr. installer/tech will do the driving, but it's likely a rare opportunity to get.
