I'm looking to fill in a day or so a week sub contracting; does anyone have any experience?My primary focus is oil and propane work I would be interested in town gas to gas and a/c re and re's. What rates do most guys charge out? I'm not sure if this will be a good fit for me as I'm pretty fussy and like stuff to turn out neat. Most companies Ive been communicating with are more concerned with scabbing equipment in as quickly as possible.
Are you in Ottawa? I know a restoration company I can refer to you for oil work. Easy jobs. Basement floods and you sell them a new furnace.

welcome to the GTA where customers get properly bent over and filled elbow deep. The name of the game here is to get that equipment in as fast as you can before the customer comes to their senses and realizes how badly they were just fisted. Quantity over quality out here, its a fricken joke. 40% of the repair service I do is on new equipment that was installed in the previous 0-6 months. If you're just in it to make some extra money then just do what they want and slap that shit in.

I was not responsible for billing so I'm not sure how the break down works and I was wondering if anyone could shed some light
What would a decent bill out rate be if you were to start your own company
Do you charge the same rate for service/diagnostics?
Is it common to mark up parts you supply?
Does anyone have a price they factor in for material used such as oxy/acet, nitrogen, refrigerant and pump oil ect?
