Just starting in the trade, what drills do you guys have? Who has the best battery warranty?
I was looking at this combo deal > http://www.canadiantire.ca/en/pdp/dewalt-18v-drill-impact-combo-kit-2990243p.html
I buy Ridgid because of the lifetime warranty on their drill and batteries, if you register online.
I used to work with a Makaita drill because of its thin battery, which was good for fitting in tight places. All drills seem to have adopted the fat lithium battery now.
Stock up on good Robertson long and short drill bits. The screw must hold on just right or it will drive you nuts!
Hey admin, would you say this 1/4" is okay, or should I get a 1/2" chuck

I would suggest a drill kit that includes a hammer drill
depends what you using it for. basic installation of sheet metal / short screws id stick with a 12v system cause its light weight and you can get into tight spaces. 18v are too strong and heavy for everyday use and will tire you out.
I personally use the 12v milwaukee fuel impact drill for 90% of my installations. i also have a 18v milwaukee fuel for heavy duty work.
