Title: FWA furnace in attic
Post by: Gasguy79 on April 29, 2017, 09:56:39 PM
Have a cx that want to put his 90 plus furnace in his attic lots of room won't have to do horizontal install just a couple mods to ductwork
Checked code book for this type of install and not really seeing anything saying we can't do this I recommended a pan with overflow switch etc and he is going to build a room for unit to sit in and isolate from rest of attic
Just wondering is anyone has completed this type of install and any advice

The sound from my attic installed furnaces seems to travel further/are more pronounced then the ones in the basement. So if the furnace is loud and he's got bedrooms right beneath, you might have a problem.

Is the attic conditioned? Condensate line could freeze, venting might need insulating?
