Title: Trying to find a contractor to run new gas line to kitchen stove, but where?
Post by: Huck50 on July 12, 2017, 07:46:53 PM
Looking for a contractor to run a new gas line to our new,but not installed yet,dual-fuel kitchen range.
Lots on Kijiji with license, but not sure if they are licensed enough to work near or shut off my gas meter,(Enbridge),etc.Who is allowed to install this new line other than Enbridge and what kind of license is needed.? Thanks,Huck50

Of course we're allowed to turn off/on an existing meter. We're just not allowed to start modifying the system on the supplier side by making any changes to it. We wouldn't be able to do most of our jobs if we couldn't. Make sure this person you find is someone who is going to be tagging the line with his contractor and gas license numbers. You'll be needing a minimum G2 gas technician for the job. G1 would be the highest level. Keep in mind you might get what you pay for.
