Charge: Part III Provincial Offences Act summons for an offence under the Ontario College of Trades and Apprenticeship Act, 2009, sec. 4 – employing or otherwise engaging individual to engage in compulsory trade without a Certificate of Qualification.
Summary: On October 19, 2016, Ontario College of Trades enforcement officers conducted an inspection at a new development for residential homes at unit 67C, Mill Street, Tottenham ON. The enforcement officers determined that one (1) individual was performing the work of a sheet metal worker (308A) without proper qualifications, in particular, the individual did not hold a Certificate of Qualification and was not an apprentice in the trade working pursuant to a registered training agreement.
On April 7, 2017 759165 o/a Middletown Sheet Metal Ltd.was convicted of the charge and the court imposed a monetary fine and issued a one (1) year probation order.
