I'll make it brief
-age 24 currently on 3 month probation w co op
-Made career change from social work to hvac 5 months ago = no hands on exp except for co op
-co op hired me, but gives 6-25 hrs a week(average 16hrs a week)
bottom line - want to quit, but my lack of skills w tools may stop me from being hired by others, my co op understands my lack of skill so they put up with me (i was hired cause of my great attitude according to the boss).
Question: what would you do if you were in my shoes, i want to quit but i do not have the skillset to easily work for other companies
My Supposed plan: wait till winter for furnace season to end then quit after if hours not picking up
thoughts?
Test the waters for other employement in the hrs your not working. 16hrs of experience in your trade with a company willing to train you is better then nothing.
give it to heating season is in full force. you should getting hours then.
Contact HiMark, we have a great number of contacts after 24 years. Many companies looking for good people willing to show up.

Hey, where is this co op place? 5 to 24 hours per week is exactly what I am looking for.
It's only available on a week off/on alternation when taking the gas technician course at hi-mark.
