Title: vanEE 90h fan not running
Post by: Chris_ua56 on January 06, 2020, 01:23:19 PM
Dampers work fine and fan spins by hand. Can hear clicking at the board when I switch from remote to high speed/low speed on the toggle switch but fan does not come on. Any advise is appreciated. Also I'm not a tech, just a tradesman.

Thanks

There's only 1 mechanical damper.  If it opens and closes then likely the problem is with the board.

If you unplug the HRV and plug it back in it does a startup test where the fan runs then stops.  Does the fan run during this startup test?

It does not run after unplugging and plugging back in.

I just had a 90H-V+ fail with the clicking noise you describe but I noticed the mechanical damper was not opening fully.  After I pushed it open the motors started to run.

In your case it sounds like the damper is opening.

My only thought now is if it's a faulty motor or board.  Given there are 2 motors it's likely the board is the problem.  You could just wire the motors to a constant 120V source to prove they do work.  If so I would double check the mechanical damper and if it's working order a new board.

You can also call Vanee as they have decent enough tech support.
