Good afternoon

Was wondering what the CO ppm coming out of a fireplace should be outside?
Is the reading always high? I'm getting about 300ppm.

It's a napoleon direct vent system. Vent run is 12' out the side wall.

Any help would be appreciated

I've heard anything below 400 PPM is acceptable in a gas fireplace vent. You won't find any Codes about it though.

Fireplaces is that one odd ball item where a really good flame with low CO looks like crap... There's a fine line between trying to get that real wood burning look and trying to avoid soot and CO problems with a dirty flame. I'd make sure the log set is correct with minimal impingement and make sure no CO is present inside and around the fireplace in the room.
