Title: Mister Mini Help SOLVED
Post by: rhconcepts on January 25, 2021, 03:50:11 PM
I have a Mister mini installed but it wont kick in until temp reaches 120F. My Rheem gets upto 107F. I have tried playing with the 1st stage trim switch but they don't do much unless I set it to -12 and then the fan cranks up higher and the temp goes down to 96F. What can I do to make temps higher or is that safe?

My 2nd question is about modifying the Mister mini. I can replace the thermostat switch in the mister to one that turns on at 100F. Would that be bad? would it flood my duct work because the temps are lower?

Thanks

I have never seen this model but I read the attached manual.  It says to install it "approximately 3 inches downstream of the furnace discharge."  You may need to install it closer to get a 120F temperature.

Wire that system to W and C so the humidistat is only powered when the furnace is heating.  I would probably call them first to ask what the 120F is all about, otherwise I would just bypass the temperature switch.

To increase the supply temperature you need to lower the fan speed, but make sure the temperature rise is still within the limits stated on the furnace rating plate.

The manual doesn't actually say to use cold or hot water so maybe using hot water would help.

Well you picked up that 3" part and I didnt see that. Im going to try taking a temp in a lower spot but its going to be right above the coils. I just picked up a 110F switch so that will help. Ill let you know, im going to work on it right now :)

Thanks

Just want to post a update. I got the unit to kick in at 110 by replacing the temp switch. After running for 2 mins water was dripping out the corner of the ductwork. So I took the unit out.
