Title: B149.1:20
Post by: I’macreative on January 31, 2021, 10:39:39 AM
Hi Everyone,
Does B149.1:20 include an Index? While studying Unit 4, it mentions an index for refrence, as well as a Table of Contents. My copy doesn't have the mentioned Index.
I am wondering if it was excluded?

I have Contents at the beginning but no Index at the end.  My B149.1-15 had an index but the B149.1-20 doesn't list an Index in the Contents so maybe this is how it's supposed to be.

Here's the answer from the CSA.  I guess they don't make any money selling these code books...

The latest OESC 27th Edition does include an Index so I guess it is allowed in CSA publications. :-\

QuoteUnfortunately, the index was removed from the B149 Codes since indexes are no longer permitted in CSA publications.
This was a decision made by our publishing/editing team.
Essentially it was becoming too much time and effort to maintain these indexes, so it was decided to no longer permit them.
I believe Electrical Code is the only exception.
The B149 Technical Committees wanted to keep the indexes, but unfortunately that was not an option.

Might be posted already somewhere else on here, has the 1.20 version been adopted for use yet?  or is the 1.15 still the reference.

The new code book hasn't been adopted yet.  2015 version still is on effect.
