Title: Ecobee 4 powering a drum humidifier?
Post by: rhconcepts on February 06, 2021, 02:26:49 AM
I upgraded to the ecobee 4 and it has a 24v output for a humidifier. Does anyone know the limitations of that output? I need to know if that wire will be ok with powering a skuttle 86-UD under duct drum humidifier. It was enough to trip a relay on the other humidifier but will it be enough to power the drum motor?

Unsure what the contact ratings are for tolerances with the Ecobee, by why not air on the side of caution and use a relay to isolate the humidifier from the thermostat.  Thermostat wired to relay coil, humidifier wired to relay contacts.
