Title: Rheem tankless venting requirements.
Post by: imaginenewmedia on April 15, 2021, 03:57:56 PM
Rheem Platinum Condensing, 199KBtu. The manual says 3" sched 40 PVC for exhaust and vent. Is this legal in Canada? I would have thought System 636.

Is this your model?

See page 34.

QuoteAll exhaust venting materials for product installed in Canada must meet ULC-S636.

You can use Ipex or Royal PVC or CPVC.  PVC being the cheaper option.

Close, the manual looks the same, but mine doesn't say 94% efficiency, it says 'High efficiency'. Regardless, page 34 does state 'All exhaust venting materials for product installed in Canada must meet ULC-S636'. The 'cheat sheet' that came with it only mentions SCH 40 PVC pipe. Different strokes for different folks I guess.  Thanks!
