hello techs/ need the more experienced techs input to help figure out this issue im having with amanafurnace its giving me e6 error code. and it refers to low signal flame, iv aready replaced with new FS , system worked after that for 2 days then again it would not work after several trials .. then go to lockout again , im not sure if its gas valve issue or control board malfunction , system is variable speed and when it kicks in ,,,the flame is ther but very low and until it hits second stage that althoug all that seems normal operation , but agian after day or two will fail , im thinking maybe bad control valve? it the none adjustble type
ur feedback is much appreciated
I have seen a Goodman furnace do this. It was caused because of a direct vent system that was recirculating flue gas back into the intake outside. Normally this sort of issue would trip the roll out switch but in this case it was causing a low flame signal lockout.
Usually reconfiguring the vent termination outside will solve this type of problem.
I would definitely check the low and high fire manifold pressures and clock the gas meter as well. Usually it's the control board that would cause an intermittent issue but if I tell you that it will for sure be the gas valve.
so i went back agian, idono man this time system is giving me whole different error code wich is B0 (Stands for blowwer motor off) ... so it would work just fine on low then high fire approx 8-10 minutues then it would just shut off completely , until i rest it , wich would be agian B0 ERROR CODE. So i called goodman tech support ,i asked them what to check or if its blower motor (of course ecm .and its a modulating furnace) the goodman tech , says seems like its bad control board , i asked what about the motor ,then he says no those type ecm motors if are bad then they would just not run at all .
i oredered the part
i dono man told the clinet to keep the thermostat at low 19/20 degree untill i gert new board ,, and funny part no board in stock in whole canada gotta wait 2 to 3 week from texas , what you think ? possible board ?
Yes, I would have went with the control board.
I would have went with the board as well. I find if the unit is doing weird stuff then chances are it's the board
