Title: Rheem condenser low voltage issue
Post by: rcflightcrazed on March 21, 2022, 10:55:10 AM
Ok, I've been working on ACS for close to 30 years.  This one has me scratching my head.  New condensing unit was installed last year, has been running great.  Stopped working, I found the transformer was burned out, replaced it.  Now, I have my 24v outside, but as soon as I hook it to the contactor, it drops the voltage to about 1v. Installed new contactor, same thing, even with no high voltage wires hooked up.  T stat was replaced too, just because it was old, and I wanted to eliminate it as an issue.  Any suggestions?

Got it!  Brand new contactor bad, out of the box.  Had me pulling my hair out! Up and running, 👍🏼
