Title: AC ac evaporator and condenser mismatch
Post by: evg114 on April 25, 2022, 09:23:12 PM
Hello.
I'm new here and have no experience with HVAC. Had AC installed in my house today and wanted to consult this forum according equipment that was installed and if it makes sense as I'm not 100% confident that it was done right. The AC unit we agreed on was 2.5 ton Seer 14 Trane. Equipment that was installed in my house: Trane 4ttr4030l1000a outdoor unit and Carrier CNPVU3617ALA indoor coil. Installer assured me that there is no problem installing these different brand units. I would appreciate professional opinion  according this kind of mismatch. Is it OK and acceptable? Should I be concern or expect any problems due to this mismatch? Thanks.

Not a problem. Pretty standard practice. They would've used a similar coil for a 16 SEER too. N coil with a TXV. So if anything you won out of this combo.

Thanks.
Just curious why same brand indoor and outdoor units not used for AC installation?
