Title: Sealing heat pump leak
Post by: Jt81 on May 23, 2022, 12:01:20 PM
Hello all, I believe it's called the accumulator on the compressor of my heat pump, it sprung a leak right at the top where it mates with the outlet. Is there a way to seal this? I've attached a picture below...thanks for your help.

Sure

We'd recover what's left of the refrigerant, then braze the leak shut, then create vacuum inside the system, and then recharge the system with refrigerant.

Thanks man, there should be no issues with brazing it? The leak is right under the lip of the accumulator where it meets the pipe not where it connects to the second one.
