Title: Help! Lifebreath 155
Post by: ChelseaDangler on October 30, 2022, 06:42:20 PM
Hi! Doing some renovations in my basement and I shut off the lifebreath 155 hrv at the lcd panel before the drywall was sanded. I noticed later in the day that the hrv was running on high even though I hadn't turned it back on at the panel. I tried unplugging the hrv from the wall, removing and replacing the digital LCD (I had an extra one), cleaning core and filters, disconnecting wires for LCD and timers. When I plug it in it goes directly to high speed and doesn't do a start up test cycle. The green light on the panel doesn't work either. There is power to the LCD panel and all timers but none work  Any thoughts on what the issue is and possible fix? Thanks!

Is it possible the control wiring from the HRV to the wall controls was cut or damaged?

Does the HRV terminal block look like this?

Remove the low voltage wiring from HRV terminal block.  Install a jumper wire between "ON Terminal 2" and "RED Terminal 3".  Then install a second jumper between "ON Terminal 2" and "HI Terminal 6".

Plug the HRV in and after it's power up sequence it should start to run on high speed.  If you remove the jumper between Terminal 2 and 6 it should stop.

Thanks for getting back to me! I thought it might be possible to be damaged timer from the area the work was happening but removed it from the circuit and it didn't change anything.

That's exactly the terminal. I put the jumpers like you said but it it only ever stayed at low speed.

Fyi, HVAC company checked the hrv today. Control board and motor need replacing. 5 year warranty valid until Nov 1. Hoping it's covered since I contacted the company beforehand

That warranty should be honored.  That's great timing!
