Title: Commercial heat exchanger repair
Post by: Samjohn on April 09, 2023, 02:02:50 PM
Hello,

I'm curious if any Licensed gas tech has ever done a field repair to a commercial heat exchanger.

What was your experience ?
Have you done a RTU heat exchanger repair?

Thanks

I wonder if anyone has done it before and what the acceptable repair was..

4.21.3
Where the heat exchanger of a commercial or industrial appliance is found to be defective, it may be
repaired, and the repair shall be in accordance with procedures acceptable to the authority having
jurisdiction.

I guess any cracked commercial heat exchangers are always replaced.

They are the big custom made boilers you can walk in. They're welded to repair.
