Hello all,
This is my first post so be gentle. I am doing renovations to my bathroom and I found under my fiberglass pan/bench combo a HVAC supply outlet. I am installing tile and so I don't need the outlet there. I capped it off and installed my shower pan over it. Now my AC is working in a very very low speed. It takes over an hour to get from 76 to 75 when the temperature outside is only 78. Before it used to take only 20 minutes to get from 72 to 71 even on a day where it's 95 outside.
I opened all the registers around the house. I washed the condenser unit outside, changed the air filters, and tried to clean the evaporator coil but its access was very limited. I opened the access to the coil but could only see the top portion of if but couldn't access the coil to open the panel to clean the underside of the A-shape when the dust most likely is collected. The condenser and evaporator coil did not look frozen.
I even changed the fan speed to a slower one in case the static pressure was too high.
I've ordered a manometer and 410A refrigerant gauges to gain more info but they will be coming in 2 days.
