Title: Heat pump thermostat recommendation
Post by: Hgye on September 18, 2023, 08:22:00 PM
We are installing a heat pump, split system, with an electric furnace.  Can someone recommend the proper thermostat?  It won't be wifi.  I want the heat pump to run until about -15C, then have the electric furnace take over.  We don't ever install these, so I am unsure which thermostat I should use.

Ecobee or nest would work.  Most wifi tstats that can read outside temp would probably work.

There will be no wifi.  Does theeco bee have an outside air temperature sensor?

He meant it reads the outside temp through internet, like the weather app
