I've been looking around the internet for some answers about the little pressure tap on the consumer side of the gas meter. I know Enbridge contractors use their manometer directly on the that pressure tap to test systems for leaks, but I've seen some of them with this little silver tube shaped fitting which they screw directly onto the tap and the rubber hose from the manometer fits right on the fitting. I'm wondering if someone can help me find this fitting.
I always manage to get my tubing over the supplied gas meter fitting but I believe you need a 1/8" NPT thread. Smaller than the 1/4" NPT fitting we use on gas valves and propane regulators.

I do have one of those, it came with the Manometer. Specifically what I am looking for is what I think is a stainless steel fitting, with female threads that can screw directly onto the male threaded post of the gas meter pressure tap.
I really just looks like a black iron nipple, but silver, and its a female thread on one side and male on the other. The female side is the side that's attached to the meter.
So enbridge uses an analog dial manometer ..that is female threaded to tap on ..
Their manometer just threads directly onto the meter? I haven't seen the guy who showed me the fitting I am trying to find in a long time, and the last time I saw a guy replacing a gas meter, he wasn't around exactly at the moment that I was lol.
I believe the fitting you are looking for is called a Pete's Plug fitting, google that and you should be able to locate what you need.
Alot of the Enbridge inspectors use the Yellow Jacket 78062.

Follow up question everyone,
Could anyone share how exactly to pressure test from the meter with a manometer, or how one would pressure test/ clock a digital gas meter. For new appliance commissioning purposes.
And, are there any online resources where Ontario gas techs could learn something like this/ similar topics?

You can't really clock a rotor or a sonic their scale is way to high, as far as pressure testing one you can do a "leak test" by connecting your manometer to an appliance inlet tapping and shut the main gas service valve, if your pressure doesn't drop it is leak free. This is the same method used on propane systems, although in propane you have to vent some of the gas until the regs fully open and you don't have high pressure gas keeping the low side pressure at a normal level while check for leaks.

So when I try to put the manometer on the natural gas system, the numbers just slowly fluctuate, even with the main valve closed.
When I go to fill out the "appliance installer validation form" for enbridge, I have to confirm "Rating plate value for appliance input is not exceeded when at high fire and appliance safety and operating controls function properly prior to Enbridge Gas initial putting into use inspection." How could I determine the input value with a newer digital gas meter?
