The hvac in the unit above leaks. A contractor is supposed to come fix it & says they need access into this unit? I want to be a good neighbor but I'm concerned as to why the contractor needs to get into my unit. When the repairs are complete & the hvac is on I understand the contractor wants my feedback to make sure the leak is gone. But I don't want the contractor working on my hvac. If the faucet above leaks why do you need to see my faucet? Does this sound right/wrong to anyone. I've heard some crazy contractor stories & don't want my hvac out now that summer is near. Thanks
Unless the water shut off is located in your unit, for the unit above, I don't see why they would investigate anything below the water leak in question.
If the leak is still suspect and appears at the lower level from the unit above, perhaps they need access to yours to confirm it stopped? It doesn't seem the contractor is interested or planning to touch your HVAC at all. I would hate to leave and get the call from management that the leak is still there and have to explain why I didn't follow through and confirm it stopped by checking out the very place the leak complaint came from, which I assume is from your apartment.
