Title: failed compressor?????

what is the fail rate on new compressors  have a new 2 tonn a.c pressure are good install fine has been working for 3 months now no problems .... no there is a grinding noise comming from the compressor that can be heard down the street  any ideas?????

Does the unit still cool?

Sounds like the refrigerant may have leaked out.
Take a look at the welds inside & outside, you might feel some oil that would indicate a leak.

pressure are keeping the same at 65 low side 185 high side stopped cooling as house temp when up 6 degreese in 1 hour

from the sounds of things, if your using R22, the hi side valves could be leaking back or your only running on 1 cylinder
