Title: Agency
Post by: Lou on April 07, 2009, 08:27:44 AM
Many time I see online for job from Patriot Source 1.  If you don't already know, they are an temp. agency for employment.  I would like to know if it is a good idea to work for an agency?  Is going thru a agency replacing someone else's job, like a scab?  Personally, I never liked any agency for any kind of work.

I don't think it has anything to do with a union, so I don't think you would be a scab.  I wonder what sort of fee you have to pay though...
The pay is good, considering they only want a G2 with 1-2 years of experience.

I applied for this position online out of curiousity, it was indeed scab work as the agency informed me.  employer was on the verge of a labour dispute.  positions available across ontario, central training in milton and burlington area.  had to write and aptitude test with a very high focus on service of residential hot water tanks.  starting wage for me with a g2 was 26.50  ,  but for an undetermined amount of time.  I thought to myself, what hvac company has offices all over ontario, is unionized and has a focus on hot water heaters.  I was thinking Reliance.  paid training was available and starting every week, would be a good position for anyone who is currently out of work.
