Thanks for the reply. I was speaking with a friend who is a tech with one hour, he says they are prone to leaking with many different metals making up the parts copper/galv/brass. Also the supplier I would use also stocks Navien.

The new Navien NR-A model seems to work well.  I saw alotof problems with the CR-A model.

The earlier control boards were plagued with problems.  Water temperature fluctuations, gas smell at the exhaust termination and no hot water pressure.  The board would sometimes not send power to the water adjustment solenoid.  The new revision control board seems to resolve these issues.

Also the CR models use a clear plastic drain tube, they call a siphone tube.  They always crack and leak water.  They now use a black rubberized siphone tube that I haven't seen crack.

Here's an earlier post, regarding the Navien CR-A models,

Go with Rinnai.  Good Japanese made units.  My company has been installing them for 6 years, maybe 2 service calls.  I have one in my house.
