Title: Filter dryers
Post by: Brad on July 22, 2010, 06:27:40 PM

I had a guy tell me that  when a system is  not running that the moisture dose not stay in the filter dryer but  migrates back  towards the condenser
this is news  to me    I thought dryers were to hold any moisture in the dryer

any truth to this ?

You're right, the filter drier is designed to trap and hold moisture, and it can become saturated.  This is why they should be replaced periodically.  Using a manifold with a sight glass is a good tool to monitor the system.
