Fan motor will not run, cheked breker-ok changed 50amp fuse heard a click at unit-no techs available for house call

It sounds like you're hearing the 24V contactor close in the outside unit.  I'm assuming the compressor is not running as well as the condenser fan motor.
You probably have 2 glass fuses, each feeding 120V to the outdoor unit.  Check the rating plate outside for the maximum fuse size.  Make sure you install Time Delay fuses.
If you do have 240V at the outdoor unit, and the 24V contactor is closing, you most likely have a bad capacitor.  It has a rating on it, something like 50MFD + 7.5MFD @ 440V.  Make sure the replacement part matches those numbers.  Unless the capacitor is visibly swollen you need a multimeter to test it to know if it's bad.  Also, it's possible something is preventing the contactor from closing.  Sometimes earwigs will die inside the contactor.  Turn the 240V off at the disconnect breaker or at your fuse panel (remove both fuses), and set the thermostat to off.  Take a look under the contactor paddle.
