Title: Carrier gas pack burners not igniting
Post by: sparkync on October 03, 2011, 09:17:52 AM
I have a Carrier gas pack.  I turned the thermostat to heat.  The combustion motor comes on, the ignitor engages, I have 24 volts on the gas valve, but the burners will not ignite.  Last season I had the circuit board replaced, the ignitor replaced, and the burners replaced.  Seems like I'm not getting gas.  After a while of testing I can smell a little gas, but it seems to take a while.  Any help would be appreciated.   Thanks..

Verify your supply gas pressure with a manometer.  If you have gas, and get 24V to the gas valve, then you may have a bad gas valve.

Thanks for the response.  Found the problem.  Eagwigs blocking the oriface in the gas line.  Seems to be working fine now.  Glad I could fix it myself with a little help from a phone call to a friend.  Thanks again
