Title: Hrv new home construction
Post by: oldguy2 on January 11, 2016, 06:06:06 PM
are any of your builders doing or designing for a simplified system. I'm getting designs that call for a two bedroom house with 50 cfm and three bedroom houses that call for 65 cfm of air. with 50 cfm bathroom fans. the hrv's must be getting smaller in size I guess

We can use a Vanee 60H in any home with up to 5 bed rooms regardless of square footage.  I have noticed some designs call for the 40H model.  The new F280 designs use smaller HVAC equipment it seems.

In most town houses we don't install HRV's, but instead interlock the bathroom fan with the furnace fan.  I still don't understand where the fresh air is coming from with this type of system.
