Have two of these units in a 70's condo. The smell of mold off of the units is so strong that it has not gone away after having every single window open all summer. Radiator has been sweating heavy the entire summer months for 30 years now causing this to happen:

Could I reline everything in AYR-FOIL?

How does one go about replacing the insulation?

Does it even need it seeing it is all inside?

How bad is this situation really?

Appreciate the help because the management here is telling me to F off tard.

That's brutal!  Is there even an air filter on your air handler?  It looks like the lower pipe is wrapped in asbestos, and you probably have electrical and plumbing code infractions in that unit.

Visit the Health Canada Mold Page - Here

Here's a Review Order awarding a tenant 20% off rent because of a mold issue - TEL19422-AR-RV

You could sick the ESA (Electrical Safety Authority), Municipal or Provincial Health inspectors and the Landlord & Tenant board on the owner but why waste your time.  It doesn't sound like the owner cares.  I would move out and file a complaint and try to recover as much rent money as I could from the owner.  Stay away from buildings built in 1970 or earlier.

I am stuck because I don't want to get the building management/condo board in trouble over this, hating me in return and possibly upping the maintenance fees.

That would work.  Is all the ductwork insulated or just the air handler?  You would have to clean all the ductwork for sure.  And if that is asbestos wrap you definitely want it removed by a pro.  If the asbestos fibers start getting into the fan and distributed it could be worse for your health than the mold.

Just the handler is insulated.  If the supplier doesn't carry the ArmaFlex then I will opt for some of the radiant foil stuff.
