Is the economy so bad in Ontario or everyone is in Winter sleep?

I was in Calgary in November, first time I'd ever been west, and there are jobs out there like crazy. If I was younger I would go out there in a heartbeat.
Ontario has to be the hardest province to work and operate a business in. We are regulated to death and every time you turn around there is another fee for something else. Next will be the College of Trades scam
