Charge: Part III Provincial Offences Act summons for an offence under the Ontario College of Trades and Apprenticeship Act, 2009, sec. 4 – employing or otherwise engaging individual to engage in compulsory trade without a Certificate of Qualification.

Summary: On January 25, 2017 Ontario College of Trades inspectors conducted an inspection at a new residential construction site located at 556258 6th Line, Blue Mountains ON.  The inspectors determined that one (1) individual was employed to perform the work of a sheet metal worker (308A) without proper qualifications, in particular, the individual did not hold a Certificate of Qualification and was not an apprentice in the trade working pursuant to a registered training agreement.

On May 24, 2017 1359678 o/a B&R Heating & Cooling was convicted of the charge and the court imposed a monetary fine, including a victim fine surcharge.
