Boiler comissioning

Good Day, folks.

I've been asked to commission a small in-floor heating boiler, but truth be said I never really encountered heating boilers before. What exactly are the things I should pay attention to and do when dealing with boiler start ups? I unfortunately do not yet know anything about what kind of boiler is it, but I assume brand new installation.

Most of the newer installation manuals will list the start up procedure.  It's worth reading through to make sure any dip switches are set correctly.  Usually a flue gas analyzer is required to make certain things are set up correctly.

In simple terms, if it's a somewhat standard boiler... make sure you have heat (hot water) coming back to the return pipes. If one set of pipes is hot and the other is cold you probably have an air lock (provided the pump etc. is doing its job). If it's a viessman boiler, just pack up you tools and get someone that knows how to set them up. It doesn't hurt to take a manifold test either or if you feel like it lol.
