I am installing a Bypass Humidifier on my carrier furnace Model number 59TP6A.  The leads for the water solenoid, one is connect to my thermostat Cor wifi and my question is should the other lead be connected to the 24 VAC COMM terminal or the HUM Humidifier terminal?  My fear is that i will wire them backwards.  I feel that I should connect the thermostat Aux 1 wire to the COM terminal and the solenoid wire to the W/W1 terminal.  Or should it be reversed?  thermostat Aux 1 wire to the w/w1 terminal and the solenoid lead to the com terminal?  Any help would be much appreciated.  thank you

The furnace HUM terminal is 24V on that model, but if you're connecting the HUM to the thermostat, then the thermostat is what is supplying the 24V to the solenoid.  Just connect the second HUM wire to the furnace board C terminal.

No problem.  If you rather use the humidistat instead of your thermostat I would use the 2 HUM terminals as it will energize anytime there is a call for heat.  If you're using a 2 stage thermostat wired for 2 stage you can't use the W1 terminal and C because then the HUM will not turn on with high fire when W2 is energized.  If you're using a single stage stat then you could use W and C as well.

Just make sure the dip switch is set correctly for the thermostat staging.  SW1-2 switch should be ON for 2 stage thermostat or OFF for single stage.
