New furnace install

Hello all.

Any help is much appreciated.

Replacing my furnace and when they arrived they didnt have a 24.5" cabinet.  They had a 21".

The AC coil is 24.5 and all ductwork above that.

They are not able to source quicly a larger cabinet and are going to build a small tapered duct to connect the 2.

Their other option was provide a higer output BTU furnace that comes in a 24 cabinet.

Any concerns with a smaller width furnace then the ac coil above it.

I would not oversize a furnace just to get a larger cabinet.  The newer furnaces are much smaller than the older ones.  They can easily use a transition to adapt to the existing plenum.

Make sure they record the manifold pressure and the temperature rise readings.
