I tagged this house previous for having a freestanding fireplace that was a illegal install on the tssa list.I go by the house the owner wanted to use the same person who install the fireplace to begin with and I see this. I don't know what he was thinking this is the kind of stuff this guy does to homeowners who want something cheap even if its not to code.

I am thinking a direct vent would have been the better way to go, all that stainless can't be cheap!

Clause 8.14.4 - A chimney shall extend not less than 3 ft (900 mm) above the highest point where it passes through the roof of a building and not less than 2 ft (600 mm) higher than any portion of a building within a horizontal distance of 10 ft (3 m).

Is that B Vent rated for outdoors?  Director's Order FS-051-04 and Section 8.17.3 should be followed.
