Charge: Part I Provincial Offences Act notice for an offence under the Ontario College of Trades and Apprenticeship Act, 2009, sec. 4 – employing or otherwise engaging individual to engage in compulsory trade without a Certificate of Qualification.

Summary: On July 13 2016, Ontario College of Trades enforcement officers conducted an inspection at a residential site in Kingston. The enforcement officers determined that one individual was performing the work of a sheet metal worker (308A) without proper qualifications, in particular, the individual did not hold a Certificate of Qualification and was not an apprentice in the trade working pursuant to a registered training agreement.

On Dec. 12, 2016 Kingston Home Maintenance Inc. was convicted of the charge and imposed a monetary fine, including a victim fine surcharge.
