Heat pump on old oil furnace

Hello all.
I recently wired in a keeprite heatpump into an old oil furnace
The power keeps tripping the thermostat so i believe its pulling too much
Energy and cuts the furnace out which leads to 5 minute compressor lckout and theres the cycle. From doing resesrch it looks like i would need a fan delay or another transformer wired in.
Im just not sure how that would be wired into the system on the ac side.

Not sure what you mean by "power keeps tripping the thermostat"?
Yes, you most likely need a transformer with a higher VA rating. Also, you would need a fan relay and a thermostat designed for HP use.
We would need to know what credentials you have before offering too much more support.

Im a service tech and installer for 5 years now heating and cooling. This is my first experience with a heat pump. I have serviced older lowboy units before but thats pretty much just replacing parts on them.
The furnace has a fan control centre and with everything wired in when the ac kicks in it will literally trip the thermostat. The power will cut for a few seconds and then turn back on.
Im not by the t stat right now but its a honeywell 3 heat 2 cool t stat
So i have had it set up since winter where it did the same thing but immediately after the power cut it would start the ac in hp mode.

Ive been trying to find wiring diagrams on this kind of set up but havent had much luck.

I was able to get it working a more frequently when i switch fan to on

There was an ac there before i installed the hp that worked fine
