I never fully understand how to properly ground csst in this scenario.
-if the house has black iron coming into the furnace room and is bonded inside,  and im tapping in a bbq to go outside in wardflex from the furnace room main, do i need to run a ground wire outside as well?

-same for a fireplace?

It only needs to be bonded upstream from the CSST,  not downstream.

Some CSST manufacturers used to require additional upstream bonding.  EG:  Between the gas meter and CSST as well as the standard bond usually installed near the appliances.

Now a bonding connection anywhere on the piping system is considered a direct bond and all that is required.

Tracpipe / Counterstrike never had additional upstream bonding requirements.

Wardflex / Wardflex II were vague as their manual said Wardlfex II does not require additional upstream bonding, implying that Wardflex does.  But this is not the case.

Gastite used to require it so people used Flashshield instead.  Gastite has since released a bulletin that says only a single direct bond anywhere on the piping system is required.

thanks for clarifying that. seems like its a gray area and the manufacturers cannot make up their minds.
