With the space between houses becoming less and less in Ontario, specifically the GTA, what is the minimum space required between 2 units for proper operation and efficiency?

Some municiplaties have a Bylaw that may require 0.3m from an AC to the property line.

See the pic below that shows the clearances found in the Lennox 13ACX model.  Other manufacturer's may have different requirements.

I guess I'm asking if there is a universal standard minimum distance in Ontario.

For instance, in many jurisdictions in the States, the minimum recommended distance between 2 residential units is 3 to 4 feet, regardless of manufacturer.

Is there such a recommendation in Ontario?

A rule of thumb is to maintain at least two-feet (24") between the A./C compressor/condenser unit and any nearby obstruction such as a building wall, shrub, or fence.
